Backing Up to iPod
Your iPod is very portable and easy to use, making it a great solution for backing up and storing files. Having a copy of your files on your iPod can also help you protect your data in case your hard disk ever has a problem.
- Connect your iPod to your computer. iTunes will launch automatically.
- Open iTunes Preferences.
- In the iPod pane, choose "Enable disk use." Now your iPod will behave as an external hard drive whenever it is connected to your computer.
- Open Backup, choose New Plan from the Plan menu, select Custom, and click Choose Plan.
- Click the Add (+) button in the Destination and Schedule pane, and choose iPod from the Destination pop-up menu.
- Click OK.
- Click the Add (+) button under the Backup Items list to select items to back up.
