Smart, powerful backup software with one-step iLife backups
Precious photo memories, favorite music, family movies, important documents — protecting your valuable files against accidental data loss grows ever more important in our new digital age. With Backup 3, protection is easy to set up and schedule so backups can happen automatically, without your constant attention. Built-in Tiger Spotlight makes it easy to select exactly the files you want to back up. Backup runs natively on both PowerPC and Intel-based Macintosh computers.

One-step iLife backups
Backup comes with preset backup plans for your iLife content (iPhoto and iTunes Libraries, iWeb sites, iMovie, iDVD, and GarageBand projects) and other Mac essentials (personal settings and your home folder). Each plan has a destination and schedule already set up, so with a click of a button, your backups will be set to run automatically.

Flexible backup plans
You can customize the preset plans or create completely new ones for particular files and folders you want to back up. QuickPicks make it easy to add hard-to-find files, like your Address Book data. Built-in Tiger Spotlight lets you search for particular files to add — or you can just browse files and folders on your hard drive.

Create a backup strategy
Schedule regular daily backups of small files like preferences to your iDisk, and monthly backups of large files like your iTunes library to CD or DVD. Add an external FireWire drive and back up your home folder there daily or use your iPod for critical files. You can set a schedule for any backup destination, including CD or DVD. The result? You don't have to remember when it's time to back up. Backup will do the remembering for you.

Save time and storage with incremental backups
Backup saves a new version of only the files that have changed every time it performs a backup. The result is an efficient use of storage that saves you time and media costs. In addition, if you ever need to restore a file that's been lost or damaged, you can choose the most recent version of the file or one saved earlier.

Shared backup to iDisk
If you use more than one Mac, you can back up files from each of them to your iDisk, giving you the flexibility you need as you move around.
